Plagiarism Policy

Plagiarism Screening

  • Every submitted manuscript undergoes a plagiarism check using reputable plagiarism detection software prior to the peer review process.
  • Manuscripts with a similarity index exceeding the acceptable threshold (generally 20%) will be returned to the authors for revision or may be rejected outright.
  • Direct quotations, figures, or data from other works must be properly cited in accordance with the journal’s referencing style.

Types of Plagiarism Considered Unethical

Direct Plagiarism
Copying text, ideas, images, or data from another source without proper attribution.
Self-Plagiarism
Republishing one’s own previously published work without appropriate citation or acknowledgment.
Mosaic Plagiarism
Interweaving phrases or ideas from another source without proper citation, even if the wording is changed.
Source-Based Plagiarism
Incorrectly citing sources or fabricating sources that do not exist.

Consequences of Plagiarism

  • Before Publication: Manuscripts found to contain plagiarism will be returned to the author for revision, placed under extended review, or rejected outright.
  • After Publication: If plagiarism is discovered after publication, the article may be retracted, and a notice of retraction will be issued on the journal’s website.
  • Authors found guilty of plagiarism may be barred from future submissions to JADEN for a specified period.

Author Responsibility

Authors are fully responsible for ensuring that their work is free from plagiarism. Proper paraphrasing, citation, and acknowledgment of sources are mandatory to maintain scholarly integrity.

JADEN takes plagiarism seriously and will act in accordance with the COPE guidelines to investigate and resolve any cases of misconduct.
